Ania tells us of her love story in Rome.
“We met 8 years ago. I was a hostess, he was a bodyguard at the same fair.
Our lives suddenly crossed each other.
Our first years together were really difficult, since he had lot of work to manage. But the essential ingredient of our success has always been unconditional pure love for the Roman cuisine. Andrea is indeed the owner of a well known restaurant in the centre of Rome, La Buca di Ripetta.
We consolidated both our couple and business, creating a well-coordinated staff and achieving together important goals.
We live in one of the most beautiful cities of the world. It is always so romantic strolling the back lanes in the center. It was just walking down some streets that on a sunny Saturday we discovered a wonderful church, the “Basilica of SS. Giovanni e Paolo al Celio”, better known as “the Church of Chandeliers”.
Hopefully we were so lucky to get the availability of the church.
5 months only were missing! And we had to set so many things.
The most important choice was … the gown! All the rest would have come consequently.
I searched on Internet, went to Bridal Fairs, bought magazines… I fixed appointments in so many ateliers and bridal boutiques, where I have been on my own, with my mother and with my best friends…
I couldn’t find mine. It was so difficult!
I only knew it should have been a mermaid gown… but this was only the start…
Then, turning over the pages of a bridal magazine, my glance was captured by a picture of an advertising in which the model communicated purity, but at the same time also a pinch of malice…
It was a Peter Langner gown.
On the same day, a lucky day, I went with my mother into the boutique in Via di Porta Pinciana 4 in Rome and I was introduced to him in person.
Both me and my mother were so positively impressed of him that I immediately realised I could have found ‘the one’… there!
When I came back home, I showed my husband his website (www.peterlangner.com) and he had a love at first sight for Roche style.
I pretended not to be interested in what he told me, but on the next day I ran into the boutique with my friends and I tried it on…
It was definitely the one! So unique, so elegant, so sensual.
At that point everything was so easy to define.
Until then, the catering was a very difficult problem to solve, since all of our friends were spoiled with the exquisite cuisine of our restaurant. But my gown passed me some magic feelings and made me feel so sure of myself that it was very easy to find the best solution also for that.
Davide from California Catering was assigned the job: he is very professional and he found for us a magnificent location, exclusively dedicated to us.
The make-up stylist was Stefano Bongarzone: he would have been the only one able to match up with giving me the right look for my wonderful gown.
The wedding rings? Obviously handmade realised by a famous goldsmith in via Margutta. They perfectly fit with my gown!
The wedding car was an antique Excalibur 4… my gown deserved it!
After the wedding ceremony, celebrated by our friend Don Enzo, our reception was cheered up with a live Swing concert from the “Blue Dolls”, a group composed by three singers, one grand piano player, one double bass player and one sax player.
And after the wedding cake, well-chosen from a Vogue’s magazine photo and handmade realised, we had a surprise for our guests: a drag queen exhibition, just to contrast and having fun altogether.
Everything was simply fantastic. The photos shot by Massimiliano Nabis immortalized our happiness in the day in which my life joined forever with Andrea’s one to celebrate a brand new life together, full of so many other beautiful and rich feelings.
I wish every bride to have a careful and lovable husband, who can share every choice and feel together every single emotion.
It is wonderful having the strong feeling of joined freedom, so powerful that you would like that day could never end!”
